What is your service area?
We typically move customers within 60 miles of Atlanta. If you have a long distance need, give us a call and we can refer you to another reputable mover, if we are not able to do the move ourselves.
How do I receive an estimate?
Call our office 404-355-8877 and speak with someone in customer service. On smaller moves, you will receive an estimate over the phone. On homes with 4 bedrooms or more we would like to come out and give you an in home estimate.
How do you charge for a residential move?
We charge an hourly rate that includes furniture pads and other basic materials (except boxes) that we need to complete your move. The hourly charges begin when the movers arrive and you sign them in. The charges end when the move is complete and you sign the crew out. The supervisor will calculate the bill at that time and you can give the supervisor a check or sign our credit card form for payment.
Do you offer packing services?
Yes, we can send out a special packing crew the day before your move. The packing crew can pack your whole house or just a few rooms. We bring all the packing supplies and take special care of your fragile items. We also offer unpacking services.
How do I book my move?
In order to reserve a date for your move, we require a credit card deposit payment for the trip charge that is equal to the hourly rate quoted to you.
Do you offer storage?
Yes, we have a meticulously maintained 40,000 sf, camera monitored, secure warehouse to store your belongings. If you require storage, our movers will inventory all items at your home and deliver them back to our warehouse. There your items will be unloaded off the truck straight into a vault. A vault is a 7’ x 7’ x 5’ sealed, stackable wooden crate. Only your items are stored in each vault. One of the biggest advantages to using our storage is the peace of mind knowing that your items stay padded and protected the whole time they are in our possession. Unlike public storage, we do not allow any flammable or noxious materials to be stored in our warehouse. More about our storage services.
Is there anything your movers cannot move?
We do not move: Flammable items, weapons, ammunition, jewelry, money, paint, any liquids or aerosols, perishable food, and lampshades that are not packed in a box. For a complete list, please see the residential tips page in our “Order for Service” packet.
What steps should I take when preparing my refrigerator to be moved?
First, you’ll need to make sure that the refrigerator and ice maker are both empty. Unplug and disconnect the water lines and secure the cords against the back of the unit. Vacuum any dust from the coils on the backside and under the unit and make sure that there is no water left in the defrosting pan. Remove, clean and air dry any shelves or drawers. Lastly, you’ll want to clean the interior thoroughly with a sponge, warm water and baking soda. Keep the doors open to let it properly air dry.
How do I prepare my front load washing machine?
Front load washing machines require special bolts that immobilize the drum. These bolts should have come with your washing machine when it was purchased. The bolts screw into the back of the washing machine and enable it to be safely moved. If you do not have the bolts, contact the manufacturer to order replacement bolts.
Will Peachtree Movers disconnect the waterlines to my washing machine and refrigerator?
Unfortunately, we are not able to disconnect any waterlines. If you do not have the tools to disconnect the water line, your move supervisor will have the tools for you to use.
Can you move me in the rain?
Absolutely! We will bring extra furniture pads to keep your belongings dry as well as additional floor protection to keep the mud out.
What happens if I notice something is damaged during the move?
Even with the best in the business something may get damaged. Our supervisor will have a “Proof of Claim” form in the paperwork for you to fill out. It is important to show the supervisor damage if you notice it, so he can document it as well. Once you have filled out the “Proof of Claim” form you can email, fax or mail it to our office and someone will contact you about the next steps.
