Customer Problem

A local hospital network needed to move more than 250,000 medical records from one building to another. The biggest concern for our customer was to make sure the files didn’t get mixed up. The customer also wanted to re-arrange sections of the file room at the new location, but keep the files within each section together.

Our Solution

Peachtree Movers worked closely with the customer to develop a detailed plan of action. We discovered that we had a unique piece of equipment on-hand that would be the perfect solution for this job – our book bins, which are basically a rolling bookshelves. We were able to unload files from the shelves and load them directly onto our rolling book bins. We also worked closely with the file room staff to develop a labeling method for the order in which the files would be moved.

With a fully developed plan, the move was effective and efficient. The move team successfully labeled, loaded and unloaded more than 500 book bins over a five day period. In one section, the shelving was not complete so the customer was able to leave the files on the book bins for several days and keep the files accessible to their staff while the shelves were finished being built.
