ATLANTA, GA, June 19, 2018 — Jim McKinney, Jr., of Peachtree Movers, was recently elected to serve on the board of the Georgia Movers Association (GaMA). The announcement was made at the Georgia Movers Association’s spring 2018 quarterly meeting held in Atlanta, Georgia.
GaMA was founded in 1936 to ensure consumers receive the highest quality service at a reasonable cost from reputable and reliable moving companies in Georgia. The organization now represents over 150 moving companies, including Peachtree Movers, within the state of Georgia.
Membership into GaMA requires each member to observe a Code of Ethics, committing to provide professional, reliable and safe services at fair and reasonable prices. McKinney will serve on the Transportation Rules Committee in his new position. There he will join a host of other influential moving industry professionals who head the board.
McKinney began his career by working for his father, Jim McKinney, Sr., as a mover while finishing college at Georgia State University. He was quickly promoted to Operations Manager, where he was in charge of the day-to-day moving activities. Along with his sister, Julie Hughes, McKinney serves as the co-owner of Peachtree Movers and works closely with all aspects of the company to help facilitate the best moving experience possible for the customer.
